Ashna Karpe is a self-taught artist who began exploring mixed media art forms in high school. She works in mostly watercolor, acrylic, and ink and has dabbled in digital art. Ashna paints animals, nature, anatomy, and medicine and is currently working on her portraiture.

When she is not painting or drawing, she works as a 4th year medical student at McGovern Medical School at UTHealth Houston, pursuing a career in academic surgery. Her perspective within medicine gives her an opportunity to explore themes of caregiving, resilience, agency, and the evolving relationship between patient and physician.
